THE APPLICATION OF THE EU SUCCESSION REGULATION IN THE MEMBER STATES
An increasing number of CJEU judgments on the EU Succession Regulation has sparked scholarly debates and shaped the legal framework of cross-border successions across Europe. By contrast, the application of the Regulation by Member State courts and authorities often remains outside the focus. A series of webinars on the application of the EU Succession Regulation in the Member States shall shed light on the actual practice regarding cross border succession cases in the Member States, focusing in particular on issues of jurisdiction, applicable law and the European Certificate of Succession including its relationship with national certificates. Five webinars with reporters from up to five European Member States will take place between March and June. The reporters will open the webinars with short introductory statements and will then take part in a lively panel discussion on the application of the EU Succession Regulation in their respective jurisdictions. The results of these webinars will be presented as comparative reports at an online conference in September 2022.
